Leila runs a design org of twenty-two and spends most of her time on the parts of the job nobody photographs: critique, prioritisation, and telling engineers no. She teaches design systems and product craft with an emphasis on decisions rather than deliverables. Her portfolio review module has been used as onboarding material at three companies she has never worked for.

About this course

Daniel writes the kind of frontend code that is still readable three years later, and he teaches accordingly. He is uninterested in framework tribalism and spends the first module of every course on the platform primitives underneath. Learners describe his rendering-performance lessons as the point the subject stopped being mysterious.

Watched it over three weeks of commutes. The transcripts are accurate enough that I could read on the train and watch the demos later. That is a small thing that made the whole course possible for me.

The instructor is honest about what does not work, which is rarer than it should be. There is a whole lesson on a failed approach and why it failed. I learned more from that than from most successful case studies.

Solid content, but I came in from a non-technical background and the assumed knowledge in module four caught me out. The prerequisites could be clearer about that. Everything before it was excellent.
